Introduction

Hello! I’m Duncan — you can find out a bit more about me at the bottom of this page — and I’m delighted to welcome you to ReWoven Places, a space I’ve been thinking about creating for quite some time.

This site is born from a simple belief: forgotten assets and overlooked places deserve another chance. Across the world, people are pouring love, sweat, and tears into bringing old structures, landscapes, and structures back to life. Their work delivers real benefit for people and nature — and it deserves to be celebrated, shared, and supported.

ReWoven Places reflects that idea. These projects reuse materials, stories, skills, and histories. They rely on weaving together expertise, communities, and imagination to create places that feel new, used, and useful once again. This site aims to shine a light on that weave — and the people who make it happen.

• News: Regular posts covering ReWoven project updates, book and report reviews, upcoming events, funding opportunities, site visits, and the occasional top‑ten list. Expect a mix of practical insight and curiosity-driven exploration.

• Inspiration: A growing map of fascinating ReWoven sites, projects and organisations from across the globe. It will evolve and expand over time — and I’d love your suggestions. If you know a place or organisation that deserves a spotlight, please send it my way.

• ReWeavers: Profiles and Q&As with the people who make these projects possible. Leaders, practitioners, volunteers, designers, engineers, activists — anyone contributing to the reweaving of places. To kick things off I’ve done a self Q&A.

• Advice: A bit about me, my experience, and an open offer to connect. Whether you’re starting a project, wrestling with a challenge, or simply curious, I’m always happy to talk.
